You are not chained my dear but free

Only sounds of sweet, singing tunes of liberty

Into the depths I see

Colorful halls of majesty looking out at me

Am I brave enough to change the scenes that lie before me

Or will I shrink back in my own insecurities

The storm will rise with me

As I embark on a new journey

To pick up those who have fallen as casualties

A new day to see

To light the flame

Battle injustice and inequity

Please be with me as I dive into the sea

Of unknown categories

They whisper and gently taunt me

And haunt me and harass me

For my soul is disturbed

To see a better world

That will rise above with love

Coming out of this mud

Crashing on the shore

With eyes wide open

No more running away
